Melbourne is the coffee capital of Australia (if not the world). Our coffee culture runs deep. It’s estimated that as many as three billion coffee cups are sold each year in Australia. On the hindsight we are also contributing a major risk to our ecosystem – most of the three billion cups use disposable paper cups which can’t be recycled causing the whole lot to be sent to landfill.
We decided to do something about it. We knew it wouldn’t be enough just to create a reusable cup. It has to satisfy the coffee lovers in multiple level. We need to create something amazing- a reusable cup which is better than anything that is available in the market.
Something that must be – stylish, sustainable, durable, leakproof, lightweight, chemical free, convenient and affordable.
So we got to work and got in a serious mission to change the way people think about reusable cups.
We came up with Cupy. Cupy is our answer to all the questions.
We want to create awareness to the growing and ever evolving coffee culture.
Our mission is to create a behavioural change amongst the coffee lovers to embrace Cupy that will ultimately lead towards the reduction in carbon foot print.
17 disposable cups makes one Cupy. Which means after your 17th coffee you start saving water, trees and energy.
In other words, if you use a Cupy instead of disposable cups, after your 17th coffee, you’re helping save the planet.
